Altea is one of the most beautiful cities on the Costa Blanca with around 15,000 habitants and only 130km from Valencia. It is located on the coast between Calpe and Benidorm. The old town is perched high above the sea on a natural balcony with fantastic views.

It is popular amongst artists and bohemians and amongst the steep, stepped narrow streets with white houses, orange trees and geraniums.

You willl find painters, potters and many more traditional craftsmen's studios, shops and little boutiques.

Altea is undoubtedly famous due to its amazing church, ‘La Virgen del Consuelo’, built in 1901 and boasting beautiful blue roof tops which is located in a picturesque square with fantastic views and excellent restaurants and bars.

Altea also boasts over 7 km of pebbled beaches with coves and cliffs as well as some very popular naturist beaches. The area of Mascaret is popular amongst divers and has a stunning yacht harbour with high-quality restaurants. If you travel up behind Altea you will find the mountain area of Sierra de Bernia reaching 1,130 metres. From here the views back over the town are fantastic as well as along the coastline.
